Medical Director - Dr P. J. Wiebenga MD, MRO
Dr Wiebenga began practicing in 1973, specializing in Emergency Medicine, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.  Following 10 years serving Blodgett Hospital as “Attending ER Physician”, he then operated and practiced in the Blodgett Affiliated Immediate Care Centers until 1998.  Dr. Wiebenga is proud to have focused his Occupational Medicine practice exclusively in the Holland; and surrounding area, beginning in 1998.

In 2002, Dr Wiebenga became a National Certified - Medical Review Officer (MRO).   In conjunction with the extensive knowledge and continuing education in Federal and non-Federal Standards, Dr Wiebenga provides experienced, professional assessments and sound medical judgment in assisting our clientele in solving their occupational medical issues.  

Treating Practitioner - Joel Wetzel PA-C
Joel Wetzel began practicing in 1999 in the Holland area, focusing his practice on Occupational Medicine & Urgent Care.  Joel, being a National Certified – Physicians Assistant, continues to remain current in Federal and non-Federal Standards.  His knowledge, education and skill set enable him to provide sound medical evaluations and solutions to both employer and employees occupational needs.

Medical Team - Staff
Medical Team Staff members have a minimum formal education of Medical Assistant (MA).  This highly trained staff also hosts National Certifications in DOT (Federal) Substance collection and Alcohol, evidential breath testing.  Medical Team staff members also hold Tb certification, as well as Hearing conservation and Audio certification.  Holland Medi Center’s in-house educational programs, monthly practice reviews and “attention to the details” programs focus the Medical Team in providing the most comprehensive care and maximizing Practitioner support.    

Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine Director - Dr. Tom Fowler DC, DACRB
Dr. Fowler is the only Board Certified - Rehabilitation Chiropractor in Michigan.  He began practicing in 1986, specializing in Physical Rehabilitative practices in the Holland area.  

Dr. Fowler is a selected Provider for Priority Health’s Spinal Center of Excellence. He has been involved in treating occupational injuries for over 23 years and established onsite clinic for several West Michigan companies. Dr Fowler’s expertise in manual medicine allows him to utilize the most recent evidence based protocols in treating spinal injuries. His knowledge and relationships with local specialist offers his patients the most contemporary treatments available.       

Physical Medicine Practitioner - Dr. David Britt DC
Dr. Britt began practicing in 2001, focusing his practice in rehabilitation.  Drawing on his extensive clinical experience in Rehabilitation under Dr. Fowler; Dr. Britt has established job suitability evaluations, psychometric lift task assessments and educational programs.  His physical medicine and rehabilitation practices; combined with evaluation, assessment and education, provides an additional employer dimension to the Physical Medicine Team.    

Physical Therapist - Torrey Vruggink MSPT, CSCS
Torrey is a 1997 graduate, hosting a Masters in Science for Physical Therapy.  He also hosts a Bachelor in Anatomy and Physiology, as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  

Torrey is skilled in all areas of Orthopaedic physical therapy; with areas of expertise in Orthopaedic manual therapy, occupational Injuries, sports rehabilitation and acute/chronic pain.  Torrey hosts an extensive listing of Industrial Rehabilitation Services, offering both “On Site “and clinical settings.        

Massage Therapists - Certified
As a tool in aiding of occupational injury recovery, two (2) Certified Massage Therapists provide Physical Medicine with myofascial release.  Specializing in deep muscle tissue and trigger point techniques, the increase in blood flow to the injured area promotes advanced healing and boosts the immune system. 

Physical Medicine Team - Staff
Physical Medicine Team staff members host certifications, 20 years experience, direct clinical training under licensed Providers and on-going continuing education.  As Physical Medicine professionals, this team delivers Rehabilitative Training for the patient to utilize both clinically, as well as at the workplace and home.  Utilizing the rehabilitative training of stretch, strengthen and stabilization; combined with therapeutic ultrasound and myofascial release, the Physical Medicine Team delivers an educated program that encourages full recovery.  This practice includes education to minimize the event of a repeat injury.                 

Administrative Team

Director of Operations & Marketing - James Schneider
Jim is a results oriented professional with over 25 years in Management.  His focused business direction provides employers with a well rounded view of the Occupational Medical services and there direct impact on the employers’ bottom line.

Jim is educated in DOT, DOE, MIOSHA, OSHA and TPS, which compliment his formal education in Behavioral Science and Business.  His role is both Employer and Clinically directed, which results in the employer sensitivity, direction and unparalleled support.                    

Check-in/Check-out
Attention to the patient details makes this team shine!  Their understanding of the employers’ service needs and protocols, while assuring the patient clearly understands the process and results of the visit, provide all parties a solid sense of privacy, respect and uncompromised treatment.        

Transcription
Combining modern technology with direct Practitioner dictation, the Occupational Medical Transcription provides inclusive detail on each case and visit.  This process supports all aspects of a treatment, to include supporting documentation for non-work related injuries, as determined by the treating Practitioner.  The transcripts are available via E-link or fax, in as little as 16 hours from medical treatment.  

Billing
West Michigan Occupational Services provides billing service for Holland Medi Center & Physical Medicine.  With a minimum of 18 years in medical billing; the employer is assured both accurate and detailed billing.  Employers can expect to speak with a “live professional”, if there is ever a question on a service or invoice.  Billing also serves employers as a source for the latest worker compensation rules and regulations.
